Applications Engineer

The applications engineer is responsible for directly communicating with leads and customers to answer technical questions about our Slam Stick data logger products. The applications engineer will be responsible for providing technical marketing support to showcase the product and application areas of the product through application notes, blog posts, case studies, and videos. The applications engineer is responsible for interfacing with customers and engineering to drive new product development and definition.

Responsibilities:

  • Fielding Inbound calls and emails as required to help customers and potential customers
    • Document these interactions in CRM System
  • Demonstrate via live webcam one-on-one demos how to use a Slam Stick vibration data logger to record and analyze shock and vibration data
  • Develop written case studies and application notes on how to use a Slam Stick and why to consider it for various testing applications
  • Write blog posts on test and analysis topics to educate leads on measurement and analysis theory and best practices
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues reported by customers
  • Successfully convey technical details to a non-technical audience, as well as, foster credibility with more technical audiences
  • Traveling periodically (about 10%) to support trade shows and high-value pre or post sales technical support
  • Communicate customer needs and wants to engineering team to drive product roadmap

Qualifications:

  • BS degree in an engineering discipline
  • Good written and oral technical communication skills
    • Read, write, and interpret professional journals, procedures, and government regulations.
    • Read, write, and interpret reports, business correspondence, and manuals.
    • Present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, teammates, etc.
  • Excellent cognitive scientific reasoning ability
    • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
    • Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
  • Must demonstrate ability to excel in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be a fast learner and with the capacity to learn a technical product

Desired Skills/Experience:

    • Experience using a CRM system (HubSpot preferred)

CNC Machinist

Seeking experienced CNC Lathe and 3-Axis Mill Machinists. Seeking Full-Time 1st Shift. 2nd Shift may be available. OT opportunities available.

Location: Woburn MA

Required Education: Minimum = High School Diploma. Completed or some college experience preferred.

Required Experience: 5-10 Years CNC Machinist

Skills Required:

  • Ability to read, interpret and modify G‐Code in print and at machine
  • Read and interpret engineering prints and GD&Ts
  • Setup and proof new programs on both CNC turning and milling equipment
  • ISO 9001 experience
  • Ability to work with engineers to generate setups, fixtures, and modify prints as necessary
  • Experience with 5S and Lean a plus
  • Knowledge of and ability to use handheld inspection equipment and tools to perform first article and in-process inspection duties
  • Knowledge of machine tooling, speeds and feeds
  • Programming experience a plus
  • Light assembly
  • Broad experience with a variety of materials, metals, exotics, plastics and composites
  • Ability to work with others in a fast based and dynamic environment
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair basic CNC machinery

Manufacturing Engineer

A manufacturing engineer at Mide develops and supports processes, fixtures and other electro-mechanical equipment in support of production groups. This engineer will work with cross-functional teams to reduce costs, improve quality, reduce lead times, and increase reliability.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle the day to day of the production line of our Slam Stick Data Loggers
  • Quality product and profit-driven production
    • Develop measurement programs and review data on quality, labor and equipment productivity.
    • Lead programs to improve quality, labor and equipment productivity.
    • Lead cost reduction initiatives along with process improvements.
  • Supply chain management
    • Manage inventory and order necessary materials as needed to support production needs
    • Order fulfillment, including all deliverables
    • Ensuring production equipment is operating properly
    • Expect lead times of finished units to customers be within 1 business day (manage an inventory of finished goods)
  • Customer communication
    • Will work with sales to support new orders coming in, and communicate with customers on any issues or delays
  • Product testing
    • The product and technology is continually advancing, but each new feature or product needs to be thoroughly tested before commercially releasing
  • Hardware design and fabrication
    • Solid modeling of parts and assemblies using standard Midé software package (e.g. SolidWorks).
    • Construct dimensioned and toleranced drawings for hardware machining/fabrication.
    • Create parts and assemblies through machining, welding, brazing, fastening, etc.
  • Work with engineers to design and build appropriate test fixtures and assemblies
  • Efficient personal time management, organization, and task prioritization
  • Critical evaluation of technical output from self and others (test results, designs, procedures, etc).
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of laboratory safety, order, and cleanliness.

Qualifications

    • Education - BS degree in Manufacturing Engineering is preferred, but a BS degree in an engineering discipline is required
    • Experience (1-5 years) in a manufacturing environment
    • Highly motivated and thrives in a fast-paced environment with minimal oversight
    • Six Sigma experience preferred
    • CAD (SolidWorks preferred) skills
    • Excellent written, verbal, and computer skills
    • Highly organized; strong attention to detail

Manufacturing Technician - Products

The individual in this position is primarily responsible for the day-to-day activities required to manufacture Midé’s product portfolio. Primary responsibilities include inventory management, assembly, inspection, quality testing and calibration, packaging, and shipping of the products.


Education and/or Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 0-10 years manufacturing technician experience required

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manufacturing and Assembling of Products
    • Inspection of incoming materials
    • Electronic assembly of products (soldering of some components)
    • Running software scripts to download necessary firmware onto devices
    • Mechanical assembly (bolting, layup, other simple tasks)
    • Test and evaluation of product with test equipment and computer scripts
    • Packaging
  • Operation of equipment required to manufacture Midé products
    • Includes: shaker system, lamination press, soldering iron, scale, CNC router, test equipment and other electronic laboratory equipment
  • Supply chain management
    • Manage inventory and order necessary materials as needed to support production needs
    • Receive and store incoming materials
  • Order Processing
    • Receiving and Entering order information into accounting and tracking system

    • Pulling products from inventory, packaging and shipping completed orders to customers

Sales Engineer

The sales engineer is responsible for directly communicating with leads and customers to answer technical questions about our Slam Stick data logger products. The sales engineer will ultimately be responsible for growing the customer base, revenue, and profit of our Slam Stick product line. The sales engineer is responsible for interfacing with customers and engineering to drive new product development and definition.

Responsibilities:

  • Fielding Inbound calls and emails as required to help customers and potential customers
    • Document these interactions in CRM System

  • Prospecting of new and potential customers by researching engineering companies that likely have a need for testing systems that are easy-to-use
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues reported by customers

  • Traveling periodically (about 10%) to support trade shows and high-value pre or post sales technical support
