Helping to Make a Difference
Creating a connection with the community by utilizing the broad range of skills and experience Mide's employees have to offer has always been a priority of Mide's CEO and founder, Tiene van Schoor; which is why he initiated Mide's Community Outreach Program in 2017.
Giving back to the community, while empowering our team to help make a difference by initiating and leading various programs and events, has lead to many wonderful learning experiences.
Coupled with our various outreach programs is Mide's commitment to the environment, which is why Mide has invested in recycling initiatives to help contribute to creating a greener planet.

Covid-19 Face Shield Fabrication & Donation Program
Midé volunteers initiated and partnered with Plastic Design Inc., Polar Seltzer, and A-Flex to produce and donate 150+ face shields for our local first responders including Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Children’s Hospital Boston, and Woburn"s Fire and Police Departments.
McGlynn Middle School Program
One of our flagship Outreach Programs is our partnership with the McGlynn Middle School in Medford, MA. Every year Mide"s engineers and support staff work with McGlynn"s entire 6th grade in conducting STEM experiments aligned with their math and science curriculum. The 2022 Program will be led by Gabe Hollings, a McGlynn Alum.
Thanksgiving Food Drive
Liz Warrick saw an opportunity to help our local Woburn, MA, community by organizing a Thanksgiving Food Drive in conjunction with The Greater Boston Food Bank. Generously supported by her colleagues, Liz enabled the collection and packing of many food baskets to help brighten Thanksgiving for many families.
Coats for Kids and Families
In these hard economic times, there are thousands of individuals in our very own community that are without a warm winter coat. Margie Martignetti has been running this program at Mide for several years now, and Mide's employees have always stepped up to the plate to support this wonderful initiative.
Greater Boston Food Bank
The Greater Boston Food Bank plays a critical role in helping to end hunger in Eastern Massachusetts, which is why Pete Scheidler helped make a difference for those in need by organizing volunteers to spend an afternoon at this food-packing event.
Pulling for Hope
Cancer hits far too close to home, so supporting the American Cancer Society was an easy choice. In this fund-raising event, teams compete to see who can pull a fire engine 50 feet the fastest. The money raised through this event helps to provide services and resources like free rides to chemo, free places to stay near hospitals, and a live 24/7 helpline for cancer patients and their families.
Lifebridge Charity Bake Off
Lifebridge has been working to meet the most urgent needs of the homeless and under-housed on the North Shore of Massachusetts for over 30 years. Caroline Coburn initiated and organized our first community outreach effort with a wonderfully delicious Charity Bake-Off to raise money and awareness to support Lifebridge
Committing to a Greener Planet

- MassSave Light Bulb Replacement Program
- Single Stream Recycling Model
- eWaste Recycling effort
- Replacing disposable cups, plates, and utensils in the kitchen with dishwasher friendly glassware
- Investigating the Eversource option for an electric vehicle charging station to accommodate our growing number of employees with electric and hybrid vehicles
